What We Believe

"What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us." - A.W. Tozer

Core Beliefs

The following are the core beliefs of China Hill Church | Rhine, GA based on the foundational truths taught in the bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines.

One True God

We believe the Holy Spirit is present and active in the Church today. He lives within every believer, reveals Jesus, guides us into truth, and empowers us to live boldly for God’s glory. We believe all the gifts of the Spirit are still available and should be pursued and practiced according to Scripture, with love, wisdom, humility, and accountability.
We believe God still speaks, heals, delivers, and performs miracles. Therefore, we pray with faith and expectation, trusting that nothing is impossible with God. Our desire is not simply to seek signs and wonders, but to know the Holy Spirit, follow His leading, and allow His power and love to reveal the goodness of Jesus to the world.
Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 12:4–11; 1 Corinthians 13:1–2; 1 Corinthians 14:1; Hebrews 13:8

The Bible

We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God and the final authority for our faith, doctrine, and conduct. The Scriptures are trustworthy and true, revealing God’s character, His redemptive plan, and His will for humanity. Through the Holy Spirit, God’s Word leads us to Jesus, renews our minds, and equips us to live faithfully.
2 Timothy 3:16–17; 2 Peter 1:20–21; Psalm 119:105; Hebrews 4:12

Humanity and Sin

We believe every person is created in the image of God with inherent dignity, value, and purpose. Humanity was created to know God, enjoy His presence, represent His character, and steward His creation.
Through willful disobedience, humanity rejected God’s authority, and sin entered the world. Sin separated people from God and brought brokenness, sickness, death, and judgment into creation. Every person needs the forgiveness, restoration, and new life found only in Jesus Christ.
Genesis 1:26–27; Genesis 3:1–19; Romans 3:23; Romans 5:12; Romans 6:23

Jesus Christ

We believe Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, and lived a completely sinless life. He is fully God and fully human.
Jesus revealed the Father, announced the arrival of God’s Kingdom, healed the sick, delivered the oppressed, performed miracles, and preached the good news. He willingly died on the cross for our sins, was buried, rose bodily from the dead, and ascended to the Father. Jesus is alive today, reigns as Lord, intercedes for His people, and remains present with His Church.
John 1:1–14; Matthew 1:18–23; Colossians 1:15–20; 1 Corinthians 15:3–8; Hebrews 7:25

Salvation

We believe salvation is the gracious gift of God and cannot be earned through human effort. We are saved by grace through faith in the person and finished work of Jesus Christ.
Anyone may be restored to fellowship with God by turning from sin, placing faith in Jesus, and receiving Him as Savior and Lord. Through salvation, the Holy Spirit gives us new life, forgives and justifies us, adopts us into God’s family, and begins the lifelong work of making us more like Christ.
Those who belong to Jesus are new creations. Our identity is no longer determined by sin, shame, condemnation, or the failures of our past. We are sons and daughters of God, called to live in freedom, holiness, joy, and obedience.
John 3:16–17; Romans 5:1; Romans 10:9–10; Ephesians 2:8–10; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Titus 3:4–7

Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit is fully God and is present and active in the Church today. He glorifies Jesus, convicts the world of sin, gives new life to those who believe, and lives within every follower of Christ.
The Holy Spirit guides us into truth, reveals the heart of the Father, produces godly character, and empowers us to live holy and fruitful lives. We believe in the baptism and filling of the Holy Spirit, through which believers receive power to be witnesses for Jesus and to participate in His supernatural ministry.
We believe all the gifts of the Holy Spirit described in Scripture remain available to the Church today. These include wisdom, knowledge, faith, healing, miracles, prophecy, discernment, tongues, interpretation, and other gifts given for serving and strengthening the body of Christ.
We desire the gifts of the Spirit while recognizing that love must govern their use. Every spiritual expression and prophetic word should be practiced with humility, tested according to Scripture, and exercised with wisdom, order, and accountability.
John 14:16–17; John 16:7–15; Acts 1:8; Acts 2:1–4; Romans 8:9–16; 1 Corinthians 12:4–11; 1 Corinthians 13:1–2; 1 Corinthians 14:1

The Cross, Healing, and Freedom

We believe the death and resurrection of Jesus accomplished a complete and victorious work of redemption. Through the cross, Jesus defeated the powers of sin, death, and darkness and opened the way for people to be reconciled to God.
We believe God still heals, delivers, restores, and performs miracles. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever, and the ministry demonstrated by Jesus and continued through the early Church remains relevant for believers today.
We pray for the sick and hurting with faith and expectation while trusting God’s wisdom, timing, and sovereignty. Miracles are expressions of God’s compassion and power, not evidence that one person is more spiritual or important than another. Whether an answer comes immediately, gradually, or differently than expected, we continue to love people, pray faithfully, and place our confidence in the goodness of God.
Isaiah 53:4–5; Matthew 10:7–8; Acts 10:38; Colossians 2:13–15; James 5:14–16; Hebrews 13:8

The Church

We believe the Church consists of everyone who has placed genuine faith in Jesus Christ. Jesus is the head of the Church, and every believer is a valued member of His body.
The Church exists to worship God, cultivate His presence, proclaim the gospel, make disciples, care for people, demonstrate the love and power of Jesus, and advance God’s Kingdom throughout the world. We are called to gather in community, grow in spiritual maturity, exercise our gifts, serve one another, and carry the hope of Christ into every area of life.
We believe Jesus established water baptism and Communion as sacred practices for His Church. Water baptism publicly identifies a believer with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. Communion remembers and proclaims Christ’s sacrificial death and celebrates the new covenant established through His blood.
Matthew 16:18; Matthew 28:18–20; Acts 2:41–47; Romans 12:4–8; 1 Corinthians 11:23–26; 1 Corinthians 12:12–27

The Kingdom of God

We believe Jesus came announcing and demonstrating the Kingdom of God. Through His life, death, and resurrection, He defeated the powers of darkness and established His victorious rule.
God’s Kingdom is present and advancing, although its fullness will be revealed when Jesus returns. As followers of Christ, we pray and work for His will to be done on earth as it is in heaven. We partner with the Holy Spirit through evangelism, discipleship, prayer, supernatural ministry, compassion, justice, generosity, and service.
We believe no person or situation is beyond God’s ability to redeem. Therefore, we live with faith and hope, carrying the goodness of God into our homes, workplaces, community, and world.
Matthew 4:17; Matthew 6:9–10; Matthew 12:28; Luke 4:18–19; Colossians 1:13–14; Revelation 11:15

The Return of Jesus

We believe in the blessed hope: the personal, visible, and glorious return of Jesus Christ. He will return as King, complete the work of His Kingdom, defeat evil, raise the dead, judge with perfect righteousness, and reign forever.
Until He returns, the Church is called to remain faithful, proclaim the gospel, make disciples, and live as a holy and hope-filled people who are prepared for the coming of the Lord.
Matthew 24:30–31; Acts 1:9–11; 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17; Titus 2:11–14; Revelation 22:12

Resurrection and Eternity

We believe heaven and hell are real and that every person will ultimately stand before God. There will be a bodily resurrection of both the saved and the lost.
Those who have received salvation through Jesus Christ will enter everlasting life in God’s presence. Those who reject Him will experience everlasting separation from God. God will ultimately make all things new, and His people will live with Him forever in a restored creation where sin, death, mourning, and pain are no more.
Matthew 25:31–46; John 5:28–29; 2 Corinthians 5:10; Revelation 20:11–15; Revelation 21:1–5
